Faith Figures: A Summer Series
And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also." — 2 Timothy 2:2
None of us comes to this faith on our own. The Christian faith is carried from person to person across generations — in lives faithfully lived, in words spoken, and in the quiet witness of those who point us toward grace. This summer, we invite you to share the stories of those who have shaped your Christian walk.
Who Should I Talk About?
Your faith figure can be anyone who has meaningfully influenced your walk with God. For some of us, that will be a parent, mentor, or dear friend. For others, it may be a biblical character whose story has illuminated our own, or a historical figure whose life and work have formed us even across time and space. The essential thing is that you have spent time with this person—or with their biography, letters, or legacy—and that their life has left a mark on yours.
What Should I Share?
As you prepare, consider organizing your reflections around three movements:
1. Introduce Your Faith Figure. Help us get to know the person. When and where did they live? What were the defining contours of their life and work? What were they like—their character, their convictions, their circumstances? Give us enough context to understand who they were and why their witness matters.
2. Share Your Relationship. Tell us your story. How did you first encounter this person or their work? Was it a relationship nurtured over many years, a book placed in your hands at the right moment, or a single conversation that stayed with you? Help us understand the nature and depth of your connection to them.
3. Reflect on What They Taught You. This is the heart of your presentation. What has this person's life taught you about faith, about God, about what it means to follow Jesus? Are there particular moments, words, or habits that have formed you? Feel free to share a quote or passage that has been especially meaningful.

We are grateful you are willing to share your story with us. In doing so, you become part of the very tradition we are celebrating — one more faithful voice passing on what has been given to you.
