"Bring a smile to the homebound" By: Karen Weems
Wonderful, hectic, exhausting, but most of all jam-packed are words that describe the Christmas season.
The mind starts spinning when one thinks about all that needs to be accomplished before December 25th.
One thing that is guaranteed to lift your spirits and more importantly bring joy to another person is to deliver a red poinsettia to a Homebound member.
Families with children would benefit in participating in this ministry opportunity. What a great way to connect the older and younger generations!
The Homebound need to know that Emmanuel remembers them and all they have contributed to our church family.
So many of our people have been faithful in delivering the poinsettias in years past.
Norma Matthews brought flowers to those she always called, “My people.”
Selma Watson talked about her poinsettia for months. She was proud about how long it lasted – well into the following summer.
Please add this experience to your “to do” list.
The Christmas flowers will be ready for delivery on December 4th, the first Sunday of the month.
To be a part of this ministry, contact Karen Weems at 640-8667 or karenaweems@gmail.com. Meet her in the Parlor following worship on the 4th to pick up your flower. See you there!
